Introducing letterboxing to my boyfriend (ZJBearsfan) has been one of the best things ever. It works out perfectly because he loves to drive, figure out puzzles and go on road trips and i love road trips, carving and being crafty. It all works out well for us. So since he lovesletterboxing now too wehave gone and found a good number of boxes and even planted a few. We also took a trip to Gettysburg, which was fun because my family and i had been up there boxing before but this time i got to find a few more boxes then i had before so it was awesome.I also got to experience finding my first hitch hiker after months of being a boxer. I was so excited and my boyfriend really was unsure why until i explained to him what they were, then he was excited too. So needless to say we had so much fun and found a bunch of boxes and took a bunch of pictures which was so fun!
These are some of the pics we took, some are near boxes that we found without giving a place a way and others are just random pictures that we took! ENJOY!!!!
Another vacation trip to my grandparents who live in Delaware. I am so excited because we got to go boxing again. There were a few at Bethany Beach that i could not wait to get. These were some of the hardest and most fun to get because we had to be really stealth which was the fun part. Also trying to get a box that is located behind a police station when you do not know if they know about it is kind of scary. None the less it is thrilling haha. These boxes were definitely some of the most fun boxes to get. I was even going to plant a box that i had all ready but it never happened so maybe next time i am down i can finally plant my first box. We will see maybe i will plant it some where else. I know this was short and sweet but i felt that an update was needed! Life has just been really busy lately i barely have enough time to even letterbox. :o( Which is very sad yes! Well for now i bid happy trails!!!
Family, Easter break, and letterboxing what can be better?! Most of my family lives in Pennsylvania but one of my grandparents live in Delaware near Bethany Beach, so we visit them a lot. There place has become a second home for my family, because who wouldn't want a second home at the beach. This Easter we decided to skip out of PA for Easter and go spend the holiday break with my grandparent's. So what better of a way to also get some new letterboxes that i do not already have :o) you know me always thinking!! I was excited because this was the first time my family and i would be able to get some boxes not in PA and not around us like the rest that we have found were.So we headed to the beach and picked up a few and after we did i took this picture that i absolutely LOVE and i hope others enjoy too! In the end we got a few boxes and experiences boxing in a different state! We even tried to get my grandparents in to it but they were not so sure of it all i guess.
A few days home and i have already carved 3 stamps, and made over 30 LTC's haha wow i have really been wanting to work on my letterboxing stuff. Here are the stamps that i have just finished carving, but i dont want to put up the LTC's yet because i don't want to give them away.
Finally Spring Break is almost here which means i finally have some time to put forth in making some LTC's and go out letterboxing, and maybe finally plant a few boxes! (That would be amazingly nice) ALSO....I am loving the new AQ my page set up, i am finally getting time to play with it and have some fun with the widgets :)! I joined some LTC swaps and can't wait to get carving and creating with the LTC's i am going to make. I am so thrilled to finally have time for my addiction...oops i mean "hobby" :) Thats a short little update in Penguin_Girl22 for now but i am sure i will get some pictures up when i have some of my LTC's done :)
Today was my first mini-meet or meet of any kind. My mom was completely thrilled like a kid on Christmas eve. It was so great to go out and get together with a few boxers around here and also get to meet and help out a fellow boxer from Idaho. That was pretty exciting to meet another boxer that was not even close to being from around here! We met at Sparky and Clark's got some coffee and then sat down and exchanged sig stamps, and some personal travelers. W also just got to sit around, talk and get to know one another, along with learning some new things since my family and i are still newbies. We had so much fun, and i hate that i can't just go out all the time right now and go letterboxing becasue of school, but thanksgiving break and christmas break are coming up very very soon :) so hopefully i can go get a few while i am home again!
Also i finished my first tracker for LTC's and am signed up for another one! I'm just as additcted to them as actual letterboxing. Although i just don't have much time at the moment school takes all of that away. I do have a lot of LTC's that i have not had time to log finds on yet, so if anyone out there is wondering if i got mine, I probably did but just have not had the time to log them, so bare with me there. I hope everyone is doing well, i'm not in the letterboxing community loop right now so i'm sure i'm missing a lot of whats going on and what's new :( I'll be able to jump back in, in do time! anyone can e-mail me at anytime i would love to hear from anyone!!! take care everyone....
Well, I have gotten into making LTC's as well as carving a few more stamps, I have made 5 total LTC's so far, and love making them just as much as any other thing in letterboxing..BUT.... school is starting again and Lbing must be put to the side so i can focus on school :( *tear* Yes I will still get on AQ periodically, but will be unable to trade LTC's with anyone at this time, if you are interested in a trade by all means e-mail me and I will respond when I can, and send out trades when I am home for weekends, or breaks! So no i most liekly wont be seen on the boards or even logged in much, but i didn't fall off the face of the earth, just back into college life!!!
But before I have to get back into college too much i thought I would post some LTC's I have made and some pictures!!!!
So here we go...
This is NOT my first LTC but more like my 3rd or 4th, but it is my absolute favorite so far that I have made! I love it! I carved this bear in memory of my great-grandmother who loved bears and collected them as well as loved to make my family and I blankets, and such by sewing, crocheting, and whatever!!! This is called Patches, and i only have aproximately 3 left for trade...BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRADE RIGHT NOW! BUT if you would like this feel free to e-mail me to set up a trade, and I will send patches out when i can!!! So don't expect it right away!
P.S. this is all hand stitched BTW!!!!
NEXT:
We went to Gettysburg, to walk around and see the place, but also to LB of course! we found a few boxes while we were there, kind of like a last "hoo-rah" before school started again!!! We had a gorgeous day to be there and spend the day!!! Loved every minute of it and had a blast with the family :)
Well, unfortunately that is it for now, and probably for a little while because when classes pick up it will be insane and no time to even think about LBing or LTC making :(
